Custom Jewellery

I offer a great way for you to have something made especially to your design.  I also offer items much cheaper than you are likely to get made in a jewellery store by an employee.  The reason is simple – as I work from a workshop and not a jewellery store so I don’t have to pass on any of those nasty overheads which jewellery stores are compelled to.  Also, I am self employed and I don’t have to pay someone else a wage to help you get what you want.
But please understand that items sold in Jewellery stores  and online are often mass produced in batches of 10,000 items or more.  When I make a custom item of jewellery it is a one off piece so if you see an item for sale for one hundred dollars don’t think I can make it cheaper than a Chinese state of the art industrial factory with the cheapest labour costs on earth.  But I can make something similar and in any metal you wish and custom make it to your  desire.
Where do we start?
Firstly, email me and tell me what you want.  Let me know the metal that you would like it made in and any other information you have.  If say, you see a picture on another site then send it to me or direct me to that site.  You might like a ring made with a bit of this and a bit of that. Well if you can show me a few pictures with those details then we can discuss what you want. Or, you can send me a sketch.  From there we can discuss it until I have enough info to give you a quote.  It is a good idea to let me know what your budget is so we are not heading in the wrong direction.  It is just a guide so no need to be exact.

Pinkie  Ring Project.

Joe is a lawyer and wanted  a pinkie ring in 9 carat yellow gold.  It is to be his lucky ring and he couldn’t find anything in jewellery stores in a pinkie ring that he felt good about.  I suggested this simple design which is a very harmonious style.  It is about 6mm wide and size K.  I opted to hand make this ring for that special touch as I know that would be appreciated by Joe.  It sets me in a very personal mood with the person who is going to wear the ring when I do this.  As I work away I am often thinking about the future owner, picturing where and when they will be wearing it and how they will be thinking about it.  It’s a lovely feeling to enjoy your work like this.
I gave Joe a price for 9 carat and although he hadn’t asked for it I also gave him a price for 18 carat yellow gold.  I am so glad he accepted it as 18 carat really suits this ring.

Dragon Pendant

An interesting project.   Josh, a teenager, had the white cow bone carving and he wanted to make it into a pendant.   I firstly coated the cow bone with a coating which would protect it as much as possible in case he still wanted it.  I then make a two part cold mold as a normal thermal mold would destroy the cow bone.
After this was successful,l and they aren’t all perfect I then made a wax from the mold and it was very difficult to get that out of the mold.   
The next stage was to cast this in an anti tarnish silver.  Then some surgery on the tongue of the dragon as Josh specified and a ring to hold a chain soldered on the top, a clean up and polish and there it is in all its glory.  A  beautiful  piece.
This is not something you are likely to get down from your local jewellery shop as the either would not have the knowledge or they wouldn’t want to bother doing it as it is quite an effort.  Even if Josh had found someone to do it I guarantee he would never have got it for this special price.

You did it again!  I can't thank you enough.  The professional way this ring was made and the perfect workmanship is a credit to you.  Thank you again, I will be wearing this ring everywhere.  My wife is still wearing the ring you made for her and loves it.    Gary - Kansas USA
